Ring Warming Ceremony
Incorporating a ring warming into your wedding is a special way to involve all of your guests in your ceremony.
It gives your loved ones the opportunity to hold and imbue your wedding bands with a wish, blessing or prayer for your marriage. By the time your rings make it on to your fingers they will be saturated with the love of your friends and family.
The most common option is to pass the rings around just before the ring exchange or through out the ceremony. If you have a larger guest list you may want to have everyone “warm” your rings as they arrive, before they take their seat. If you love the idea, but want to keep it simple, you can always just do this with your parents and wedding party.
With a ring warming everyone will be welcome to take a moment to bring their own beliefs into your ceremony in a private but meaningful way.
Sample Ring Warming Ceremony
Officiant:
“_______ and ________ will now exchange rings as a symbol of their commitment to each other. They would like each of you to participate in a ring warming ceremony. As the rings are passed from person to person, please hold them in your hand, pause for a moment, and make your wishes and prayers for the couple and for their future together before you pass them on to the next person. These rings will not only be a gift from one to the other, but will be given with the love and the support and wisdom of their family and friends.”
