There are only three groups of people who can legally solemnize a wedding ceremony in Ontario:

  1. Religious Officials;

  2. Ontario Municipal Clerks Designates; and

  3. Judges/Justice of the Peace.

Ontario maintains an electronic list of registered religious marriage Officiants authorized to perform marriages in the province. For legal confirmation, you can find my name listed under the town of Waterford!
