Wedding Pebbles
You often hear people say “You are my rock”, and if you think about it, stone is very symbolic. It’s part of the earth, ancient in age; a sign of strength and endurance and therefore so symbolic when used in a wedding ceremony.
On arrival, every guest takes a small pebble to hold during the ceremony; charging it with their best wishes. love and good vibes.
This is a wonderful way to include everyone in the wedding by way of offering blessings and good wishes to the newlyweds.
During the ceremony, the Officiant explains the significance of the stones.
“We all recognize that today is a very blessed occasion in the lives of (Groom) and (Bride). You have been invited here today because of your special relationship with them. When you arrived, you received a stone. Since we all wish nothing but the best that life has to offer this couple, I’d like to ask each of you to hold the stone tight and extend your best wishes/blessings for the bride and groom as a reminder of your love for them on this day of celebration.”
After the ceremony, the stones are placed in a bowl or a vase and are yours to keep as a reminder of everyone who was present and of all the love and support that surrounds you in your marriage.
